Rule Studio: Ability to have asset buffers of less than 5m

Currently the specific layer buffer indicates it allows values of (0-500m), but rounds to the nearest 5m.

Particularly for our earth levee areas, we consider our asset locations to be highly accurate, and only want to be advised/monitor works that will encroach on the earth levee, as they will require additional controls.

    Hi Andrew, the specific layer condition can be configured with a 0m buffer which is not rounded to the nearest 5m. A 0m buffer would be applied to the original dig site geometry as sketched by the enquirer to determine if a rule is met or not.

    SmarterWX also uses a 10m safety buffer when generating the map to determine if the asset layer should be printed or not. A 0m rule condition might result in a No Assets Present response, but if assets are within 10m they will still be printed.

    Finally there is a 10m buffer applied by DBYD NextGen to the enquirer's dig site to determine if a utility will receive a referral. This is applied because it is generally accepted that dig sites sketched via DBYD are approximate only.
